Grooving machine
brief introduction
The grooving machine is a special tool for pre-treatment of pipes when using grooved joints as pipe connectors. The operating principle is to use a rotating pressure wheel to drive the pipe to rotate, and the radial direction of the pipe is followed by a pressure wheel to apply pressure radially, thereby using the structure of the pressure wheel to cold press a specified groove at a fixed position of the pipe.
Instructions
1. The grooving machine should be placed in a spacious and flat place to avoid the vibration of the machine during grooving and affecting the grooving quality.
2. Make a pipe bracket according to the size of the pipe, which is required to be able to expand up and down, and adjust the level through the support screw; Bearings shall be installed at the rotating part of the pipe.
3. When pressing pipes, adjust the oil pressure. Generally, press a groove according to the following time control
| Specifications | DN50 | DN65 | DN80 | DN100 | DN125 | DN150 | DN200 | DN250 | DN300 |
| Time (minutes) | 2 | 2 | 2.5 | 2.5 | 3 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 |
4. Adjust the limit according to the size of the pipe and the depth of the pressed groove, so that the pressed groove depth is within the specified range; If the specification of the pressed pipe changes, the limit needs to be readjusted.
5. Pressure pipe range:
| Pipe diameter | Lower roller | Upper roller | Baffle |
| Ф60-Ф80 | Ф60 slot width 14 | Ф97 top width 10 | Ф85 Step facing outward |
| Ф100-Ф150 | Ф87slot width 14 | Ф97top width 10 | Ф110 Plane outward |
| Ф200-Ф300 | Ф87slot width 19 | Ф97top width 13 | Ф110 Step facing outward |

matters needing attention
Disadvantages of too deep groove pressing:
(1) If the pressure groove is too deep, a relatively large circular arc will appear, which not only reduces the radial compression amount after the clamp is installed, and is prone to leakage, but also when the pipeline has a certain pressure, the steel pipe can easily come out of the clamp, causing a water leakage accident.
(2) Too deep a groove can affect the strength of the end of the steel pipe.
(3) Too deep a trench can damage the galvanized layer of the steel pipe trench.
(4) The excessive depth of the trench causes a bell mouth to appear at the pipe end, which increases in diameter and affects the installation quality. In severe cases, it can cause water leakage or failure to clamp.
Disadvantages of shallow groove pressing:
(1) The groove is too shallow, and the clamping margin is reduced after the hood is installed, which is prone to leakage.
(2) The groove is too shallow, which can easily cause the clamp to trip when the pressure is too high.
(3) If the groove is too shallow, the joint surface of the clamp is prone to gaps. When the medium pressure increases, the outer diameter of the rubber ring can easily bulge out, affecting the sealing performance. When the medium pressure reaches a certain level, there will be tears at the bulge of the rubber ring, causing water leakage.
